2018 f250 column shifter issues
2018 F-250
My column shift has some strange issues.
A little background. When purchased new the gear lever was stiff. I took to dealer and they were able to make it better. But it has never been as smooth as other 2018 f250s I’ve driven.
What’s going on now- Upon starting the truck shifting from P to R or D. The truck won’t go in to the gear selected but Neutral instead. The selector will show the correct gear but it’s in N. I can turn the truck off and back on and still won’t go into gear. If I gently rev the motor the gear will then engage
This happens randomly (and of course never at a dealer), sometimes 3 times a day or it could go a month between. It seems to only happen after at least 20 minutes of driving and when not using remote start. It acts like the truck thinks it’s remote started and doesn’t recognize the key is in ignition.
Anyone have a similar issue or an idea for a fix?
