The other lift kit i mentioned is by Revtek. this is the kit that also shims "lifts" the top shock mount too in order to get it back to it's center of travel.
similar price (about $150?? retail i think)
The Daystar kit has two components per strut tower. The first is a new coil cup which is only about 3/4" thicker than the stock. The second component is a shim that goes between the tower mount (frame side) and the top of the strut. Sounds similar to the revtek you are mentioning. Either way, lifting the front will change the geometry since you are not matching the changes in proportion on the control arms (or lowering them with spacers).
when discussing with the revtek rep i was confused about his claim that thier kit would not have boot problems from the increased angle on the drive shaft. i basically called him on that claim as we pointed out that if you did not lower the pivots of the A arms and more immportantly, the attachment at the inboard side of the drive shaft. that a 2.5" lift is a 2.5" lift and both products had the same increase in driveshaft angle.
now it appears that the daystar has the same shock remount as the revtek. so it seems that both products are the same. revtek did claim they had the patent on the shock mount spacer.
hmmmmm
skyjacker had the same product too. just good competitive pricing for us consumers i guess..........
i am seriously considering insalling one of the rubber bumpers (top or bottom, don't know) to
a) reduce the risk of boot problem
b) have a slight lift that is not level, but improved, so when i haul my boat, the truck sits level and doesn't squat like the superduty when loaded.
anyone want to split the cost of a kit, and split the peices for a 1.25" lift each????
Skyjacker is about to release a 6" chassis lift. You can see a preview picture on their website. Looks really nice and tempting. May be having to buy me a new 2004 model
This may be a bit off of the topic but has anyone lowered the rear on the 04? I would like to level the truck, but do not want to raise the front. What might be involved?
