I have seen on Ebay a 2-1/2" front end lift kit for the 2004. Has anybody done this yet and if so how do you like it and did you run into any problems. Also any pointers would be appreciated.
I saw that post after but nobody has put the lift in themselves yet. I was trying to see if it is worth doing myself or having a shop do it. If you know of anybody who has done it themselves please let me know.
I just won a set of the Daystar spacers for $116.95 which includes the shipping/insurance. Hopefully they will arrive this week and I will get to install them this Saturday. I'll be taking pics will post pics as soon as possible.

If you plan to tackle this yourself...you will need a heavy duty spring compressor...my mechanic didn't think it would be a fun driveway install...with the proper tools, it took the shop 3 hrs.
Every place I talk with charges 150.00 to install them, it takes 2.5 - 3 hrs for the install. I ordered mine from Daystar 10 mins ago so hopefully I will get them in next week and installed!
Daneo,
Great looking truck. I think Ford should make that lift a factory option on the FX4's. You should post that dyno graph here at FTE. In the post "5.4L 3 valve vs Hemi - yet again" in this forum, there are quite a few who would like to see it. I'm very impresed with the long flat torque curve. The exhaust really makes it look good. Can't wait to see what the aftermarket comes up with for these trucks.
I talked to some manufacturers at sema. one concern with the spring lift kit is the durability of the rubber boots on the drive shafts due to the increased angles. so keep an eye on them.
Also, the daystar kit (and skyjacker, same product) shims just the spring with the bumpers. but another kit manufacturer i found at the show ( i have to look through all my stuff to find the manufacturer), shims the top shock mount too so that the shock travel is back to its center when sitting at the new ride height. The daystar technically has 2.5" of jounce taken away from its shock. (ie it will bottom out on the uptravel 2.5" sooner than stock)
I got the Leveling kit installed today it looks GREAT. I am putting Nitto Terra Grappler 325/65R18 on Eagle Series 178's 18x9 tomorrow evening. It is going to be a close fit but the shop measured tonight and the tires will fit.
I will post some PICs tomorrow night for sure. The lift makes the truck look MUCH better. As for that big of tire, well let's just say that they are HUGE tires LOL and I hope they look good. It looks like I will only have about 4 inches of opening so may not ever need Gap guards, if and when they come out.
