During the return trip I got curious how much higher the DPF% had grown and it was back at 0% with 513 miles. I'm guessing she did a regen at 500 miles even though the % hadn't reached 100. I'm an X computer programmer. Understanding the logic written that the truck follows in this area is what's got me curious. I could agree with 100% full OR 500 miles which ever comes first along with engine temp, enough fuel and of course the AutoRegen box selected BUT some people are doing more than 500 miles without a regen. Computer logic is just a bunch of commands that the computer follows so if the threshold is 500 it should be that for everyone.. Not trying to overthink this just playing with some old brain cells..

Only way you can go over 500 is to turn off auto regen. I'm not sure if you were asking a question or not?
My 2013 would always go over 500 miles with heavy towing.
My 2020 does the same, although I do have the option to uncheck auto regen.
Point being if you build enough heat in the DPF, for me that is around 800 egt's then it will passively regen and outpace the amount of soot you are accumulating.

How do you know your EGT temps? So maybe the logic is 100% or 500 miles IF EGT temps are below X.....

Forscan is one way. As far as I have read it will regen at 100% or 500 miles regardless unless auto regen is unchecked. This has been my experience also. Don't overthink it.
Also 100% doesn't equate to 100% full. It's 1/3 full, 300% is completely full. With auto regen unchecked the dpf% pid on Forscan will continue to climb over 100%.
