89 f700 transmission

Is there a list of possible manual transmissions that came out behind the 8.2 Detroit? I bought a truck and it's not delivered yet but I'm thinking of using the transmission in another truck project.

It would be in the Master Parts Catalog:

I have a 1980 8.2 with 5 speed Clark and 1983 with Spicer 5 speed. Been told 83 had Clark but replaced with Spicer. They use SAE bell hsg pattern on trans.

1985 F700 manual 8.2

So. When bought truck it would have hard time 2nd to 3rd. I would skip 2nd. Thought clutch. Could shift low to high and all gears worked . But would pop out sometimes. Then when shifting one day the shifter just got stuck and won't move into any gear at all now.
any ideas would help. And is it the clutch or trans? What would model of trans be.

What is the transmission code on your certification lable?

I think there is a way to inspect the clutch via a small opening in the bell. Have you looked under the truck to see if there is an inspection port?

Have you checked the clutch action from the pad on the pedal to the throwout bearing--all external components? Make sure the motion of the pedal is reaching the throw out, not soaked up by a loose or otherwise compromised clutch master mount. Linkages, pivots, hydraulic hoses, fluid conditon and level?

Popping out of gear is a sign of bad synchros and or worn shafts.

Let me know what the code is.
