HI ALL
are the bellhouseing on 57-60 the same for the i 6 and the y block ive got 3 parts trucks now but diffrent trannys they look the same want to use a 223 with a trans from 272 y block well thats it for now thanks TERRY

Hi Terry,
According to my 1959 Ford truck parts and accessories catalog, they are different between 8 and 6 cyl., and also between 3 or 4 speed.
Part numbers........
B8C 7505-A (8 cyl., 3 speed)
B8C 7505-B (6 Cyl., 3 speed)
B8Y 7505-A (8 Cyl., 4 speed)
B8Y 7505-B (6 Cyl., 4 speed)
A 3 speed trans from a Y-block will fit a 6 Cyl. only if you use the 6 Cyl./ 3 speed Bell housing.
