Tried to reset pcm

came back as service procedure not supported

Well this looks different, are you using the most current version? The PCM is not supported because forscan doesn't have access. No worries there because the BMS is in the body control module BdyCM . You can push a full reset to the body control module but you will need to clear the code first.

Cleared the code then did the reset

meesage and light returned

heres some info on the code p0620 and some generator data

dont know what the data means

getting good charge voltage

but the generator data shows faults and some really wired frequencies

thanks for your relay

btw, I downloaded forscan from the forum link, I didn’t see anything about updates but I’ll hunt that down

I wish I had a harness to swap generator roles

there are faults in the prinary

if I swap the role and the faults move to secondary then that would point to prinary alt being bad

if the fault does not move then that would suggest wiring or pcm


does that make sense

My bet is you have a faulty generator or pcm but leaning towards the generator.

I have connectors coming in on saturday

hopefully I can make a pair of pcm extension cables

swap the roles and see if the problem moves

if it is an alternator will have to decide if I want to out of pocket this

if I take it in for service...it’s going to cost me vacation days, rentals, and 90 minutes of drive time each wAy

alternator could fry on the way

maybe if I can swap the roles I’ll drive it with just the good alternator connected

Lots to think about

correct

all I need to do is swap pcm connection

dont need to physically move the alternators

will be making the cables sat that will let me test this

Update

i disconnected the pcm connector from the primary and get 13.8 ad charge voltage

this is a correct number for the alternator in dumb mode.

Saturday I’ll have the parts to make cables to swap rolls to learn more.

Received the parts for the extension cables

cables will be used to swap alternator roles

prinary will be secondary

se o dart will be primary


question will be did the faults follow the alternator suggesting bad alternator

or

did the faults remain suggesting pcm circuit problem
