Pigtail ID

Hey everyone. I was wondering if you could id this connector for me? Currently someone has used butt connectors and one is broken off. I’m hoping maybe I could just buy a pigtail for it... or do I need to find one off a wrecked truck?

It’s for the AC but I’m not sure what it does. AC currently does not work and I’m thinking this might be part of the reason why. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Andrew

NAPA Temp products 207486.

You'll likely need the switch too as the terminals are likely fried. The switch is 207447.

Is there a Schrader valve under the switch?....like on the dryer/accumulator.

Sort of.

It's a check ball and the switch can be changed in 5 seconds.

I change a lot of these as the switch terminals are a high failure point (resistance causes heat then melting) and there is no shortage of spoiled-*** union "operators" who get cranky when the AC doesn't work when they're driving around getting paid to do nothing all day.

Looks like mine only uses two wires but the Napa connector/pigtail has four.. reviews say I can just cut the other two that are unused does that sound right?

Also does it matter what wires go where? What I mean by that is the pigtails wires are not colored the same as my trucks wires does it orientation matter with a switch like this? Hope that makes sense... thanks again,

Andrew

The wire colors are not specific and as long as the two wires you connect are the two that coincide with the switch terminals you will be golden.

I wonder if there isn't some sort of heat-sink that could be made to try and keep the temperature of those terminals below the melting point. I had to drive through Phoenix without AC last trip out and it was brutal. All because of a little bit of corrosion on one of the pins on my pressure switch.

Been awhile since I posted but I picked up the parts from Napa today… it’s getting super hot here!

Is it ok to change the pressure sensor as is or do I need to evacuate the system of refrigerant?

Also is this the correct port for charging it with refrigerant? Sorry for all the newb questions!

Yes and yes. When you remove the sensor/switch, there will be a short burst of pressure, but there is a valve there too.

Low pressure port for filling and checking refrigerant.
