Plumbing

So, I have a valve and lines like this (borrowed pic from another thread):

My question is: what fittings have others used to plumb rubber fuel line into the plastic fuel lines, when replacing or eliminating the selector valve?

I have a new selector valve to put in and would PREFER to not have to run all new line if it is a safe and viable option to plumb into the plasitc.

SEARCH DORMAN Nylon Fuel Line Connector Repair Kits and you should see what you need.

What year truck is it you are working on?
The valve looks to be for a EFI truck as I think they are the ones that use that plastic line.
The early valves are for NON-EFI trucks and have barbs that use rubber hose at least my 81 does.
The only thing I found was it hard to find my 3 port valve as most you find are 6 ports.
I got mine off either Amazon or Ebay and got a spare the last time just in case.

ps when my new valve stopped working and I ordered 2 new valves, before I changed it out I found the fuse blew because of a bad connection I made.
I now have 2 spare valve LOL

Question

... hmm ...

Nylon tubing suggests HIGH PRESSURE EFI. You want to use rubber hose come to think of it?

Are you carbureted or injected?

That is a valve that came on the carbed engines. I just slip rubber fuel line over the plastic lines with a hose clamp. Never had a problem doing it. You can put the rubber line directly onto the valve with a clamp also.

Yeah it is an 85 Carbureted F150

I have a new valve from Borg-Warner. It's good to hear that the fuel line can be slipped on the plastic....will try that first. No pressure at this point in the system all suction, so I can see why it could be fine.

Thanks.
