Looking for some info on the correct u joint strap kit for my E99 (likely same as other years) for the 4x4 driveshaft going into the front differential. I have the u joint however the bolts holding the straps on are not cooperating in the removal process so I would like to get new ones before I begin as most likely these bolts will need replacement. I am looking on rock auto, however there is 3 options and I’m not sure which kit I need. Any help is greatly appreciated.
My factory bolts wanted to round off the hex on the outside. Had new ones installed that are socket head cap style, so that issue went away...I would recommend that style.

Any info on bolt size, thread, length? I don’t necessarily need a strap kit, Just correct bolt size would do the trick. My bolts are rounding as well, Thanks.
Dana, Spicer, and Ford "universally" recommend a new strap kit whenever universal joints are replaced.

Spicer U Joint Retainer Kit Part Numbers: (appropriate for 1350 Series and 1410 Series U joints)
Bearing Strap Part Number: 3-70-28X
Bolt Part Number: 231142
Bolt Thead Size - Pitch: .312-24 (.3125 = 5/16)
Bolt Torque Spec: 30-35 ft lbs. / 41 - 47 nm
Note: The Ford Workshop Manual cites a lower torque spec of 26 ft lbs / 35 nm for the U-Joint retainers (straps). This could either be a clerical error (there are several throughout the service manual, including the Table of Contents which misidentified the front driveshaft section), or, it could be because "two types of universal joints are used: a Dana design and a Ford Design" (205-01-12).
Torque value specs for the four flange bolts into the transfer case output flange are significantly higher, at 76 ft lbs / 102 nm.
