I got a tip from the guy who invented the Shocker Hitch. It worked so good that I actually took pictures for you filthy animals. Took 30 minutes. I used to have to lift up my trailer and put grease on the ball about every 20 trips to the quarry. Otherwise it would start creaking. But by drilling two holes in the hitch and tapping one for a zerk fitting, I don't have to anymore. I pumped that guy full of grease and it automatically releases a little bit on top of the ball as I tow. So far it's like magic.
1) You need one hole on the side, then tap it for a zerk fitting. See pictures.
2) The second hole goes up at the top of the ball socket. You have to drill straight up from underneath, or take the foot off and flip it so you can drill down. I broke 2 drill bits doing that because Shocker uses good quality steel, not like Bull*** chinesium steel.
3) Pump that cavity full of grease. It will take about half a grease tube. Once it starts coming out the bottom hole, yer done.
4) Enjoy towing with automatic ball greasing. Supposedly in the heat it may make a mess dripping down the ball. But that sure beats metal grinding on metal. Just tie a shop rag around the bottom of the ball.
www.shockerhitch.com is their web site. Nice guys, actually answer the phone, no voicejail etc.
