Splash guard?!?

Splash guard?!?
Has anyone installed some of the plastic splash guard type of stuff on the engine underside of their older truck? I don't know what made me think of this, except that I changed the oil in my '12 Highlander recently & had to remove the cover for the oil filter to do the complete job. I would guess that this kind of splash guard {or it may well be called some other more descriptive/appropriate term?!} would keep my engine bay & much of the underside of my truck much cleaner, i.e. not as dirty or rusty!
