oil filter - where - 2010 deseil

ok, bought the 2010 f-450 diesel yesterday, changing the fluids today. oil is drained and is the darkest used oil I have ever seen. 84k on engine. looking around...dont see an oil filter.....so either diesels dont have one, or I am looking in the wrong place.

checking youtube videos next.

You found it, right? It's on top of the engine underneath a plastic screw-on cover. You need a 36mm wrench to remove it.

I wouldn't use anything but Motorcraft filters for that truck.

I found the oil and 1 of the fuel filters so those are changed. the second fuel filter remains a mystery and I will spend some more time youtubing for that later.

in moving to the rear...dont see any drian or fill plugs for the rear diff so some youtube time is needed there as well.

did get the oil (wow 14 qts), ATF, transfer case done.

I never seen oil and ATF this dark so I guess the previous owner was a warranty hopper with no intention of doing anything but adding when/if fluids got low.

thanks everyone for your help.

Fuel filter is down on the frame rail by the front prop shaft
