Hello everyone,
I am looking to upgrade the coil springs on my 1995 F150. I will be using it for plowing snow and want to beef up the front end. It currently has "K" springs in it and they just are not cutting it. I am thinking I might take the springs out of a buddies 89' F350 2wd, but I just wanted to find out what my current springs are. Front GAWR is 2950lbs. Tia for any help.
You can easily swap some F250 or heavier springs. Many guys use the Moog CC844 F250 coils. You may need to re-align the front end and use camber eccentrics on the lower ball joints. I have Superlift 117 leveling coils and had to do that. Both of these springs will raise the front about an inch and a half. You can't raise the front more than 2 inches without using I beam drop brackets. I'm not sure if anyone has used F350 coils springs but for your application the F250 springs should be a good choice. You could even look into what Eaton offers. Those would probably even better than Moog. You should be able to use stock spec shocks. I would look at Bilstein or KYB.
