My 2019 F350 6.7 liter idles up on its own at 1000 rpm when its in the 20s any body else do that too? The truck is stock I bought it off the lot brand new. It has remote start, but when you remote start it, it idles normally. The truck has to be started normally in order for it to work, is what I am getting at.

My ‘21 does the same thing. Will idle normal for awhile then runs up to 1,000rpm then after 5min or so it drops back down. If I idle longer at some point it climbs back up again. I asked about this at the dealer when I picked it up as was doing this as it was running when we were walking around the truck. I’ll I got was that “they all do it”...I know not helpful, but it’s not just yours so seems to be something that they are intentionally doing for some reason?
My '19 does it also. It was only 15 today, it idled up in the driveway but then I drove it for about 5 miles, hopped out to get a coffee and it idled up again as soon as I put it in park. My the time I got to work, driving for 30 minutes, it was idling normal.
I am not complaining about it I was just wondering on whether to install aftermarket high idle switch. If the feature is already built into the truck from factory. I am to assume I don't at this point f it does it on its own.

I got the switch because there are sometimes I want it to be activated and it doesn’t.

Awe ok, I’m installing the 1,200rpm high idle this evening as though the truck does idle up on its own to 1,000rpm, it’s not consistent or predictable.
Ford Diesels do not have an Idle feature from the factory?
I was just about to ask the same thing. Ram includes it, Chevy charges you $200 for the feature, which is a bit ridiculous since it's just turning a function on in the software.

If you have the Upfitter switches then yes, it comes with, but you have to install the resistor (determine RPM you want) and connect to the switch number you want it to correspond with. So there just not enabled...

So then no, it doesn't come with it from the factory.
Chevy and Ram both integrate it into the cruise control buttons, no need to wire anything in.
Ford will kick up the idle based on ambient temp and operating temps to stop wet stacking. At about 15 and below, mine will idle up to about 1,100 RPM when cold.
I added the BD Diesel high idle kit, and set the high idle to about 1,400 RPM
When a diesel engine is operated on light loads, it will not attain its correct operating temperature. When the diesel engine runs below its designed operating temperature for extended periods, unburned fuel is exhausted and noticed as wetness in the exhaust system, hence the phrase “wet stacking.”
