Why go higher than a basic 2" level kit? Change my mind!

I know this has been discussed a hundred times. I tried to search the forum and couldn't find a link. If you have a previous discussion please feel free to send it my way. I hate when people keep asking the same questions! Having said that...

I just bought a 2019 F-150 3.5L FX4 XLT Sport on 20" wheels. Only thing I really want to do is a basic level but while I'm doing it I guess I want to be sure I can put decent tires on it. Do I need 34-35's or 33's will do? It seems the best value is my local H&H offering this Rough Country 569 Leveling Kit for $100, around $450 installed with their 3 hours or labor and a front-end alignment recommended after.

Ya'll think a feller who's new to this should start and end with this or are there COMPELLING reasons to go 2.25" or higher all around? Costs go way up it seems. I really don't want a big lifted truck, just enough to know its not stock and for the tires. Thanks in advance!

Well since you asked for us to change your mind, here's my 2 cents. The engineers who built your truck didn't intend for it to be level. It's supposed to have some rake. Do you know better than the engineer's? I know Rough Country doesn't.

I wouldn't mess with lifting or leveling a daily driver. The engineers set up the truck to be as reliable and safe as possible. Any modifications lower reliability, safety and resale value. Most people who buy used trucks want it as bone stock as possible.

Very good perspective. Admittedly, all mods turn me off as well. I imagine what someone did with the truck if they altered the stock state. I feel the leveling alone is pretty harmless and doesn’t look all jacked up so it would be fair to do. I do agree with your overall sentiment.
