Yes it was a 2.7 as well. I didn't hesitate to buy this one because I was so impressed with the old one. The only thing different about this truck is the tire size. My old truck had 265/70/17 and my new one has 275/65/18 which isn't really much of a size difference. My old truck had lots of get up and go but this one does not and my fuel mileage is much worse. The engine is as smooth as silk as it was in my old truck but the power and gas mileage is disappointing. I have an appointment on Tuesday with my local dealer for an oil change and they are going to check to see if there is anything causing the poor mpg's. My old truck was routinely at 22 city(imperial gallon) and 26 highway whereas this new truck is at 17 city and 20 highway. I can't figure out why. I am basing my calculations off imperial mpgs, 4.5 litres as opposed to American 3.8 litres per gallon.
Did you buy your 2018 new? It takes a couple thousand miles for the adaptive transmission learning to figure out how you drive. I would expect your MPGs to go up after that. Don’t baby it, drive like you normally would. Plus, winter blend fuels tend to get lower MPGs.

I traded my 2018 on the 2020 that I own now. I did buy the 2018 new but the 2020 had 12,000 km's on it.(7500 miles).
I have a similar story to yours OP. I traded a 2018 xlt (300A package supercab 3:55 4x4) for a 2020 sport package 2.7 4x4(supercab) and I am somewhat disappointed in my new truck. My old one was lively, it felt like a mustang in truck form to put it mildly and it got great gas mileage despite the fact that I abused it. I bought the new one expecting the same thing but so far, it has been a letdown. The power is just not there and neither is the gas mileage that I enjoyed with my old one. I am wondering if Ford detuned the new trucks at all? I have searched the internet over and can't find anything, is anyone else experiencing this in a 2020, the truck works great but just seems dead.
See, my wife has a '19 with the 2.7, and it's got quite a bit of pep even when it isn't in Sport mode. She also is putting down 22/26 mpg's. So unless they REALLY detuned it (which I doubt) then something's going on with your truck.
FYI, putting hers in Sport mode will drop the mpg's down to closer to what you're describing, but there is noticably better throttle response, and it will roast the rear tires through 1st gear and well into 2nd.

My old one was like your wife's truck, with plenty of get up and go and I rarely used sport mode, I just left it in Normal mode. There are no check engine lights on and the engine is working smoothly but it does not have the kind of energy that my old one did. My old one rarely dropped back past 9th gear in hills but this one is usually in 8th-7th to maintain highway speed, it just seems lazy. I was just wondering if there are any other owners of 2020's experiencing the same thing, I have an appointment for tomorrow for an oil change and a recall on the backup camera and they are also going to scan it to see if any codes show up.
