More planing

If you have been reading my threads I have started, you will see I am all over the place, from asking about headers, to carpet, to temporary fixes for door seals. I am in somewhat of a planning phase of my truck, I currently daily it but at the same time want to upgrade here and there(headers and LED dash lights)

I also eventually will have it restored/resto moded. Currently I think I have an upholsterer lined up to put on carpet binding to carpet I cut.
not concrete yet but getting there.

In the near future I will be needing a seat. Either new, or reupholstered. Seeing that there are many wrecked mustangs around I thought of using the read seat out of one. They measure 55 inches wide. Is that too narrow? I have a seat in mine out of a 91 now, so I can’t picture how a narrower seat will fit.

getting brackets made is not an issue.

There are quite a few threads about seat widths, years that fit, etc. if you search.

If your talking about Mustang Buckets they'll fit, if you're talking about a bench out of a mustang, not sure there are many of those around.

It would be a rear bench from the 2019 model range mustang. Just an idea was looking for others opinions.

I did read about the other seat dimensions but figured I would ask around here to get more opinions, and if anyone has any other seat idea options.

One of the threads, as I recall , lists dimensions as well as which years of F-series trucks will work. I think you have to keep your original tracks.

To use Mustang rear seats you’ll probably have to build an entire seat frame to hold the back and the seat since they’re not “self supporting” meaning that the back and seat are not connected to each other in any way and just clip/fasten to the trunk framework and floor pan respectively. Not saying it can’t be done, just that it’s not as simple as “unbolting the rear seat and making a floor bracket to bolt it in the truck”.

More Questions

I don’t feel like it is worth starting a new thread for what’s probably simple for most of y’all to answer. My clutch engagement has always felt kinda high, i feel like the bottom 3/4 of the petal do nothing and the top 1/4 is where the real engagement begins. Seems worn to me, but I also have never delt with any other clutches.

secondly, since I have so many questions and updates I would like to share, is it okay to start a thread where I can just post my own questions and updates?
I know there’s a lot of threads out there already started, but typically I have a question that I don’t want to ask on a 5 year old thread, it also don’t want to start a whole new thread. To ask since the subject has been previously addressed multiple times.

Yes, why look the info up yourself, when you can ask others to do it for you? You do not need to start a thread, just look the info up and note it.

On nearly all Forums I participate in, it’s made very clear that Good Forum Etiquette dictates that members search the archives themselves, and if a subject hasn’t been addressed, ask in a new thread. It is poor form not to do so, just plain laziness, in my opinion. There’s seldom a topic not previously addressed. I , and others are usually a bit patient with newbies, but you do have to remind them . . .

Well it’s more of an off shoot question. Here’s an example of which I am trying to solve about my clutch. I have been looking up where clutch pedal engagement should be. Mine seems to be higher than most from what I can tell. That question of mine is solved, but here’s off shoot question: how much material should be seen on the clutch with the inspection plate off? I have someone holding the clutch down so the disc is free, and the surfaces seem to be pretty thin, I can post a picture if it would help

It is hard to see, but from what I have read on getting close to rivets, it is far from coming close to them. Picture does not show it.

Here, let me do your work for you - took less than a minute on Google.

Since we don’t know it’s original thickness( they vary, but can be surprisingly thin) you need to view the face of the disc to-examine it.

See, wasn’t that easy? Anthing else you don’t care to do? Got any homework questions? Chores your folks want done?😇

Actually yes you can do one more thing: not be rude and arrogant, maybe be a little more human from one to another.

I had looked on Google and spit out what I found. Anyway, each persons google is going to spit varying search results up because of cookies, so you found that, while all I found was if the rivets are close to the surface.

It is not hard to just work together.

Sonny, you’re not a newb any longer. Asking others to do what you are fully capable of is rude, in my opinion. If a technically-challenged geezer like me can do it, pretty sure a 19-yer old can tap a few keys. Time you were weaned and off the teat.

I have not asked you to do anything. I asked a question that was a little different from what I had found. Forums are for others experiences right? You don’t have to go look up something.
If someone else doesn’t know then why just simply not respond, but if you do then sure post it up.

No other forums I am a part of has someone caused another of them being lazy and not looking something up. Of course they have looked it up, heck that’s probably why they are on a forum.

In other words: if you don’t know something or have an opinion on the subject, then don’t respond. This stupid arguing over what can be asked is childish. Please no longer do it. And if someone wants to find a cheaper way do do something ie: body mounts then let them do it. Or maybe you can get creative juices going and work with them on a solution.

so please, just help people out and don’t be a stick in the mud. Thank you, I appreciate your time.
