1965 & 1966 seat width is narrower than the later model truck seat. The seat tracks are same from 1965 thru 1972, From 1967 thru 1990's the seat widths are same where one can mix and match bench to backs but would require swapping tracks after 1972 seats. Not sure if one is able to swap seats beyond 2000 w/out some retro fitting perhaps more knowledgeable member can update?
Installed 1987 Ford Lariat 40/20/40 seats and used original tracks. Issue going w/ wider bench is in order to tilt the seat forward one of the arm rest needs to be removed.
If decide to go w/ carpet found that if the truck has a removable transmission tunnel there are alternate means of securing the carpet to floor in the event one has to remove the trans tunnel to replace the clutch.
Definitely one needs to pull the clutch to inspect for wear; having said that, unless experiencing issues with the clutch suggest check clutch rod and clutch adjust rod to determine if able to bring into spec's. Just replaced clutch on the 65 and at my age not sure I am willing to do it again??
I have owned and driven my 1966 f100 3 on the tree since 1975, back probably 1980 I kept going through clutches. I thought it was adjustment wrong or cheap parts. Finally, I took to the corner gas station in those days and had a clutch put in, but maybe 6 or 8 months later it started slipping again, I went back to the gas station and they were convinced I did it somehow. What I finally figured out was the return spring was very weak and let TOB rub on the forks just a fuss. Replaced the return spring under the hood and fixed it and moved the pedal position some. When the clutch is wearing thin on those trucks, the clutch will usually start slipping and the problem is clear. Try changing that cheap spring first.
