It's for an F250. Im trying to find a tie rod and they are SUPER high if not taken off a parts vehicle. My local junkyard is currently closed (of course!) but I noticed LMC's tie rod for the early 60s looks identical and is pretty cheap. Was hoping they were interchangeable.
Steering is very important. It's not worth it to use junk used parts like that. Napa has them for $91 each side. You might find them cheaper on Rock Auto.
You have me confused on which part you need. Which part do you need in this pic? This pic covers both 100 and 250. So the parts may not look exactly like yours.
Yes, what do you actually need? If it is the long bar that the Tie Rods thread into I have one. I am in Maryland though and I am sure if it needs to ship it will be expensive. Now back to the part, if it is the part labeled as 3281 on the drawing above that may be the same from 1964 to 1976 for a 4x4 F250.
Jeffafa thanks for the diagram. I'll be checking out fordification in the future for their diagrams, that is awesome.
fe390pc thanks for the info. I found another junkyard farther away from home I'm going to check out, but if they don't have old **** I may take you up on that offer. My guess is shipping is still gonna be quite a bit cheaper than the $300 Napa wants for theirs. I'll let ya know if I don't find it.
Yellow Truck: Lol, that's a good question. It was like this when I bought it. Best guess is the stabilizer that was put on it caused it to bend over time. I noticed it because I wear tires on the front faster then I should. It wasn't immediately obvious what was wrong, but then looking at the tie rod adjusting sleeve I was like, I don't think think it's supposed to be like that.
Thanks for your help fe390. That's not a bad idea about trying to make it, if I needed too. How did you find that part on advance?
