Well guys, I have learnt more about my pick-up from this site than I have after working on it for 12 months.
I have been chasing down a persistent problem with pinging under load. After learning how to read the error codes, finding the darn test plug on a right hand drive truck, and finding that the EEC states "Little or no response from the knock sensor". I reckon I am getting down to the source of my problem.
Only trouble now is that I haven't got a clue where to look for, or how to test the knock sensor. Does anyone know where it is located, and how to test the sensor?

 

The sensor is ontop of the upper intake manifold, it has a couple of hoses going into it. I think it's screwed in.

my knock sensor was working until i went to take the connector off and the connector broke. where do i get a new pigtail?
