dana 44

hi everyone, what would be involved in swapping a dana 44 straight axle into my 1990 f250, what dana 44 would i need to do this, the reason im putting a 44 in insted of a 60 is that the 60 is worth way to much arround here and im only running 35s

but why are you going to the hasle of taking the d60 out? Is it broken or something??? If you are just doing it for the heck of it leave the stronger d60 in, even 35's can put a strain on a d44. The things to check is if they match up in their width, mounting points, etc. Is it a ttb?

his truck has the ttb setup with either a dana 44 or a 50
depending on wether on not its an f-250 hd

heres your first problem, the d44 has 32"s between spring perches, and the d60/d50 has 36"s. they won't swap.

you can move the spring perches... its easy. But the TTB is equal to the D44 so I dont understand either.

the driver side perch is cast into the pumpkin on ford SFA's....you have to fool with changing tube lengths to make it work....unless you move the springs
