I have a 2016 Ford Explorer which I've owned for less than a year. It has approximately 65,000 miles on it. It's been in the shop for a month because the second cylinder in the 3.5 EcoBoost engine leaked coolant into the engine. The tech said the entire engine has to be replaced.
My extended warranty is denying the claim because they said it was caused by a factory defect. Ford told the local Ford dealer they will not assist with any repairs because of not meeting new FLP guidelines.
I don't know what they mean by "FLP Guidelines."
I still owe 5 years' worth of payments on the truck, and even once the engine is replaced, I'm worried it's going to crap out in another 65,000 miles.

Reason: Typo
You'll have to ask the dealer what that term means.
You'll also need to read the terms of your extended warranty contract to see is there is an exclusion for "factory defects" and who gets to define what is or is not such a defect.
