There's a high mileage 6.8 on the market for $3K in the Florida panhandle. Some of the interior's rough, but it'd probably make for a better base for a 7.3 swap.
Love it! “The V10s and Diesels go for over $10k, so save some money and get the V8 and you will not be disappointed. 5.4L V8, 4X4 Limited Slip Diff with 4.11 gears so it pulls great and has lots of power. ”
I'm a tad skeptical... IIRC, isn't ~300k about the typical lifespan of a 10? I know mine isn't in prime shape and I'm only checking in at 280k

I totally agree on it being overpriced between the rust issues and mileage.
i believe the mileage and would expect it to go another 300K under the right circumstances. Does everyone remember the famous million mile V-10 delivery van? The key thing to super high mile gassers is the type of miles (along with proper regular maintenance of course) where long highway runs account for the bulk of the miles vs in town or city stop and go. But look at that brake pedal pad wear!
I recently bought my 3rd X, I found this one on craigslist about a month ago. It was a single owner 2005 Eddie Bauer 6.0 with 197K miles. This thing was garage kept and was serviced at the same dealer for the life of the vehicle. Runs and drives perfect. I just gave it some new shoes 295/75R16 KO2's today and ordered some tow mirrors because this one came with the paddle mirrors. Found out today that the original spare tire from the dealer was still in the truck and is in surprisingly great shape.
