Grease e350 caliper without jacking?

Hey guys, so I have a 2003 e350 and while I go out and buy the proper torx bit for the caliper slide pins so I can grease them, I wanted to ask a question. Do you think I could do this without jacking up the vehicle? It's certainly high enough that I can get under there and access the caliper without having to jack it up, and I shouldn't have to take the caliper off to pull the slide pins out. I dunno, what do you guys think?

I have a 2000, a 2003 and a 2005 E-Series 250 & 350 but have never considered trying this sort of thing with the wheel & tire still in place. Being honest I've also never considered lubricating caliper slide pins by themselves--that process always during brake pad or caliper replacement. I've also replaced the slide bolt boots at the same time as they don't last foerever.

To my mind you could do this without removing the tire but it would be considerably more trouble using your method.

Well, I'm probably going to wind up trying to do it without removing the tire as I don't know where I put my jackstands and it seems safer than working on the van on icy ground only supported by the bottle jack that came with it.

Due respect, why did you ask when you've already made up your mind doing it without jacking the vehicle .
At any event, be safe.

Because I hadn't. The first reply I got said that it should be possible. If she had said otherwise then I wouldn't.
