Programmer that won't void warranty ????
What I got out of this thread is that tunes can be detected if Ford wants to. The fact that it is not checked every time power train related warranty work is performed does not mean it can't or won't be detected. If a major failure occurs, you can be certain Ford will check. Ford will reject the warranty repair if a tune is found. Ford may reject a warranty claim even though the evidence indicates the tune was not the direct cause. Look how quick Ford refuses to cover cp4 pump failures if evidence of water is found in the system even though the pump is a known problem. You can fight the rejection in court but the cost will far exceed the repair.
Owners who run tunes take a risk. The risk may be very low but it is still a risk.
I had a short block replaced on my 2013 Ecooboost after a piece of the #4 piston skirt let loose and fell to the bottom of the oil pan. All under warranty I didn't pay a dime and had been tuned. Was never even a conversation about it in the slightest.
One example, doesn't mean anything one way or the other, but food for thought.
