I purchased a new 2020 F-150 back in November, and am trying to find a storage solution for tools, etc. The truck has an Extang Encore folding tonneau cover. The front panel can be opened separately, and is lockable. What I'd like is a box/tray that could be suspended beneath this front panel, while still allowing room for my ladder. Something similar to the Bakflip Bakbox (in hindsight, I should've bought the Bakflip cover.) Thinking it could be suspended using the boxlink mounting holes. Something like this:
I could cobble something together out of angle iron & plywood, but was wondering if there was a better solution out there that I haven't been able to find. Anyone have a suggestion?
Would a crossover tool box for a ranger work? It might be narrow enough to still open and you can put legs on each side pretty easy. That is a rather small space though.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think those area all going to be too wide and too deep. The dimensions I'm after are roughly 58" across x 12" deep x 16" wide.
