when i see a dirty orifice tube i pull the lines off their fittings an flush everything out.
once the flush solution come out the other side of the lines clean, i put it all back together and pull the vacuum.

just keep an eye on it. if it starts blowing warmer, the orifice tube is plugging up again. you can usually save the components by reclaiming the refrigerant, flushing, and replacing the orifice tube.

How about this... We go by a very large coal plant almost every time I take the truck out. I clean the truck almost every time and the coal dust is hard to see even on the white paint until I put a wet micro fiber towel on it. Them it looks like the black death. On MAX A/C mine will not recirculate. I was telling my wife a week or so ago that we probably should run the A/C on Max when we are passing it.
If that dust can get in the system, it can't be good.
