Thank you very much for that information. The high side will only go to 100 PSI. My brother-in-law can hear Freon escaping on the low pressure side Schrader valve. I also unscrewed the valve that holds the Schrader valve only low side and the leak was worse so it's inside where that Schrader valve is.
if the low side port is leaking, just do yourself a favor and change the accumulator where the port is attached.
it is under $25 for a new one. you will have to pull a vacuum on the system after changing it before charging it though. .
i chased a small leak on the low port in my crown vic for years before finally giving up and changing the accumulator.

I have the new accumulator and correct orrifice and will have them installed tomorrow. Thanks again for the help from everyone. Sandy
Everything is installed and working well. My buddys shop has a $4500 computerized machine that evacuates and installs refrigerant. It is as big as a rolling tool chest and tells everything that is going on. From the info we got it showed the system would take about 35 oz. of refrigerant. You tell the machine how much you want to put in but if you over do it, it will shut itself off before it overfills. We decided on 30oz. to start with. The machine went to almost 30oz. and backed off, meaning it was near full and slowly filling itself to the proper level. It took 29.97 oz and said it was full and turned itself off. Ambient temp today is mid 70's. The old orifice tube was NASTY.
Final results were the system is blowing ice cold to feel and when I got it home the gauge in my dash showed 42 degrees. I put the black light on it and showed no leaks and we did add uv dye and PAG oil. Right now everything seems to be doing fine and I appreciate all the advice and help. BTW the clutch is not cycling anymore either. If anyone can add anything about this please do. Thanks again. Sandy
It was cycling because it was probably still low on refrigerant. How was the orifice tube clogged? I hope there were no metal pieces. Black sludge is no good either.
I'm not sure about the metal. Could have been but it would have been ground up. Could have been black sludge also and it came off the rag black. It was as I said, NASTY. Guess I just need to wait and see if the compressor continues to operate. Thanks for the help. Sandy
when i see a dirty orifice tube i pull the lines off their fittings an flush everything out.
once the flush solution come out the other side of the lines clean, i put it all back together and pull the vacuum.
