Made the Switch from 6.7 Powerstroke to 7.3 Godzilla

After 6 years of owning a 2011 Ford F350 6.7 Powerstroke I mad the switch to a 2021 Ford F350 7.3 Godzilla edition. Had my fun with the diesel for 6 years but have now decided to go back to gas. I wasn't towing or using the Powerstroke like it was meant for so opted to go back to gas. Will be reviewing and looking at all the posts for 2021 Superduty Trucks. Just wanted to throw a post out there showing I made the switch.

Congrats ! Any pictures of the new truck ? It will probably suit your needs just fine. Good luck with it.

Welcome to the forum, how about a pic of the truck. What gears you got in it?

that was a good move.

egr, dpf, cp4, def tanks freezing, water in fuel, etc.....todays diesels are great, but there's always a boogy man lurking around the corner.

hopefully your 7.3 will provide a decade of worry free

I sold my trailer and probably won't buy a new one any time soon. However, I just love my Power Stroke (yes, two words, not one) too much to leave it behind. I get 18 mpg on my commute and diesel is still cheaper than gasoline where I live. So, dropping to a gasoline truck isn't interesting to me ... though a new F-150 EB would be a better fit for my lifestyle ... actually, a small 4-cylinder car would probably be even better, but I'd never not drive a truck.

Anyway, let us know how you like the transition to the big V8 gasser. We have lots of speculation here about what it might be like when switching engines, but having actual testimonials is more fun to read.

Good luck with the new rig.

Thanks. And yes, I will be adding more comments as time goes by. So far, I have put a couple diesels to shame on the interstate (empty - not pulling). From 20-60 mph of course..... I really miss that about the old gasers....

My parents have a ‘14 6.7 with 60,000 miles. Great truck, but they no longer pull much anymore, so it’s more of a rarely used run-around these days. I’m trying to convince them to sell it for around $40k (according to KBB) and get a 150 with the 3.7EB or a 250 with the 6.2 or 7.3 for around $55k. Much less to worry about for a truck that gets ~7000 miles a year and doesn’t pull very regularly any more. Interest to see what the OP thinks in a few weeks 🤔

I like big gas engines just fine but surely you’re blowing a bit of smoke? What did you put to shame in your races? An ‘85 6.9idi and and ‘82 6.2?

Now wait a minute.....I out ran my brother's 1996 5.9 DRW Cummins. Think he said he ran a 19 second quarter.
