1980 was in interim year, some had the TTB some still retained the solid Dana 44. This is why finding suspension and driveline parts listed for a 1980 Bronco is so hit and miss. Otherwise ALL Bronco's had Dana44 front axles from about 1971 on. Prior to that, if memory serves, they were equipped with Dana 30 fronts. the Ford 9" rear was a mainstay until I believe 87 maybe 89 when the 8.8" rear end was phased in.
Oh, and don't worry about the question....just read my signature.
You guys ever seen a 79 bronco with the TTB IFS?
I hevent seen one myself but someyone clamed that they had an original 79 with this setup.
Just wondering.
funny andym. But, no. I don't know anybody that has made those claims.
This is a guy that works part time at the shop I work at.
He is usually very trusworthy, but I havent seen his rig in person.
His bronco is very worn out he says and much enjoys driving his 97 Ford F-150 4x4.
I might be able to check it out sometime.

79 w/ TTB from the factory is EXACTLY like a factory 2WD Bronco...A MYTH! And NOTHING more! Not even all the 1980 models had the TTB much less the 79's.
