Ahhh okay. I see the reasoning or idea behind that...

Anyone have pics of a cut open sealed unit? It would be interesting to see what is inside.

I thought Mishimoto used to have the pic of one cut open but here's a pic of it upside down. You can see the funnel to the left.

Found it!!

Thanks for the image. I can't tell how the oil/ vapor would travel through that mess.

Then it appears you have a non-serviceable unit like the pic I posted above. No filters to get clogged up and replace. It's goofy how some trucks come with the sealed unit.

Check out the inside of these filters when they get some miles on them. I would say if you have a serviceable filter you need to get that thing off the engine and install the sealed unit, or delete it ASAP.

Watched PTT Arod's video this morning - eye opening with the serviceable CCV filter. I had the sealed unit and now running the cheese grader + reroute option = pleased with results. Light scent, little to no visual (ambient air temp dependent) and no drips. Updating the cold side pipe, the upper intake manifold already had a buildup of residue from EGR + CCV oil mist of internal intake pathway at 30k miles.

That looks like a hybrid version. Part sealed and part serviceable. I'm curious to what is under the section with the torx heads.

If I were to guess it’s a single round filter element

I will have to look into it, wonder if now it could be opened without replacing the entire unit?

thats just like mine, 2020 F350. Unlike any in the videos I’ve seen. Think these have a filter?
