Hello all, I am doing a Hard Wire install, I am just wondering what fuse would I connect in the Fuse Box on the lower passenger side near the floor?
thanks and stay safe.
I used a passenger side fuse box switched circuit so the dashcam received power when the ignition is on and for a few minutes after the ignition is turned off. For the back camera, I used the rear outlet.

whst number would you suggest i use in the Fuse Box?
I used #33, since it is for the radio (ignition switched and not a critical component for operation).
I also believe there is already 5V in the mirror, if you don't want to run the wires down the A-pillar.
There is 12V in the overhead console, I've tapped into the rear sliding window switch for another accessory.

I posted pics of my final install, I did pretty good hiding all the wires so they are out of the way. No pics of the fuse box or anything, just the final dashcam.

Running the wire down the A pillar is way easier than you might think. This is the way we went and it went pretty smoothly. The fuse box is right below that on the passenger side, so it works out very nicely.

Thank you. That is the way I plan to go. Just need to know what fuse I will pug into. Thanks again.
ran mine down the drives side pillar and use the 12v port with a dual usb adapter, phone plugs into one and the cam in the other, took all of 5 minutes to do and doesn't look bad at all, was already using it prior to the install for my phone so it was really a no brainer to take the easy route.
I bought a Nextbase 322 dash cam and was going to hardwire it but since I didn't have a hardwire kit yet I just plugged it into a 12v. power outlet. To my surprise, it comes on by itself when I start the truck and goes off by itself sometime after the truck is stopped. Don't know how it works but glad I didn't just hardwire it in.

It is turning on and off because power to the outlet is turning on and off. I didn't use a kit. I just bought a lighter socket with wire leads from my local Autozone and used an Add-a-circuit. That way I can reverse everything if needed. I think the most popular reason to hard wire them is to have a cleaner installation with no exposed wires (that was my reason).

That outlet has constant power - it’s not tied to the ignition.
It’s the outlet right next to the USB port. There’s a small blue light in the plug from the dash cam
that stays on. It takes quite a while after you shut the truck off before the dash cam turns off. Several minutes.
