Rear defrost oddity

Just bought a 2015 expy. And I’ve noticed every time I push ANY climate related button, the rear defrost lights up. (Or turns off if it was already on). Anyone ever seen this before?

Mine did that with a few different buttons on that control area. It was still under warranty and they said there was a short in the wiring and replaced a pigtail plug somewhere in the dash.
