2021 F-150 King Ranch 4x4 Super Crew (Official FTE Reviews & Questions Thread)
Hey, folks! Palmer here from the front-page editorial team. Ford recently loaned Ford Truck Enthusiasts a 2021 F-150 King Ranch 4x4 SuperCrew decked out in Anitmater Blue / Stone Grey and the Chrome Appearance Package. We're currently working on our full review, but have a couple other videos to share as well.
Basically, can you guess the correct number of King Ranch references on the new truck? Place a guess down below and then let us know if you were correct?
Also, Do you prefer the overt King Ranch styling, or the similarly equipped but more subtle Platinum trim? Cheers!
To me, the new Platinum interior is uuuugleeee. And Ford still can’t get it through their skull that brushed aluminum exterior trim should mean EVERYTHING! Not chrome door handles and mirror caps. Looks like a degenerate composition of old mismatched parts.
The King Ranch package stopped being the King Ranch package, in my opinion, when Ford got rid of the saddle leather seats! That was what made it unique.
The last time I was at the King Ranch all they had were a lot of white XLs, 150s, 250s and 350s.
Now there's a branding strategy? Remember a few years ago Ford unveiled "true blue" pricing where the MSRPs didn't rise much in a new model year? We should have "true blue" marketing by selling clapped-out fleet trucks with shiny King Ranch badges.
I'm eating a little crow here but now that I have the 2020 Explorer Limited, I'm hooked on the tech features like crazy. I never cared much about it all in a truck but hey, old dogs can be trained.
My daughter is already talking about trading her 2018 XLT for a 2022 KR when she returns from the sand pit.

It's amazing how much stuff like that can grow on you. My car does a lot of things I thought were silly when I first got it, but after awhile they turn into things you wouldn't want to go without next time around.
