What a pain that system is. Can I just block open the butterfly valves and be done with it? I'm just not into disassembly the whole top part of the engine to replace some little bushings (even if I could find them a local parts house). Just a bad Idea from FORD. Tired and broke, but need transportation. bl
It’ll run like sheeit and you’ll have to hit the pedal harder to make up for it. Quite frankly, it would probably run better with them wired closed, if you can stay away from ~3500 rpm romps, which is when the butterflies open up.
(Been there. Just fix it. The real PITA is the two torquings of the cover screws , especially by the firewall.)
O’Reilly will definitely have them. I’ve got mine apart right now to replace some loose bushings. Maybe I’ll finish up this weekend then reward myself with a massage afterwards. I’ll need it.
