1965 and 1966 used a kingpin that had overall same dimensions, but the 1965 kingpin has a Locking Bolt Pin notch that is lower down on the kingpin (centered on the kingpin) while the 1966 and later king pin notch for that is offset to the upper end - effectively centering the locking pin in the middle of the I-beam spindle pivot. So any 1965 should use the one kingpin and 1966 and later uses the other. 1966 production started with 732,000 sequence number. Let me know if you need a picture of a 1966 style kingpin and I-beam. It wouldn't be tough to swap beams from a 1966 and later onto a 1965 so I'd make sure the I-beam and kingpin match up. The bearing (3123) and shim if used goes on the bottom of the I-beam spindle pivot.

Here's a post from NumberDummy - there are a lot to choose from in a search so I just chose one at random.

Kingpin size - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)

The I-beams were the same, just the location they drilled for the locking pin was lower in 1965.
