My 85 f-150 jerks when turning in 4 wheel drive at low speed going forward and reverse especially on slick surfaces. U joints in the front driveline maybe? They have slop.

That is normal. When you are in 4x4 and make sharp turns, the wheels and driveline get in a bind. What you are feeling is it binding up and then slipping and getting out of the bind, and then it binds again. As long as the wheels can slip, either in snow, dirt or gravel, you are fine. If you turn sharp on dry pavement, most of the time it will finally break loose and unbind itself, but other times it can break a u-joint. So try not to turn sharp when it's dry with lots of traction.

Ok thanks, I was wondering if that was the case because I have lots of new front end parts on the truck and it still did it. U joints in the front driveline are next.
