i'm installing a pioneer avh120bt double din dvd receiver in my 2010 e-150 and the wiring schematic says i have to wire the light green wire to the power supply side of the emergency brake switch. can anyone tell me (or better still provide a photo) of just where this switch is located. i've googled "emergency brake switch for 2010 econoline" but haven't found any info.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
There are generally un-used wires in stereo harnesses. I've never heard of a E brake wire though. I say cap it off for now unless somebody else has more info.

Disregrad that ^^^ as its just not useful.
The switch you're looking for is physically on the parking brake pedal assembly and its part of the "smart junction box" which was integrated into the 2010 chassis. Using a test light probe the two wires you'll find on that physical switch for power as needed.
I'm assuming the stereo wire is designed to enable the DVD screen only when the parking brake is engaged and the dash lamp illuminated? If so you could "cheat" by finding another power source that could be manually switched on/off at your discretion. I'm sure that trigger is to discourage watching DVD's while the vehicle was not parked.
thanks JWA for the info. i did some more research and found a micro processor bypass that i've ordered. not even thinking about viewing anything but the back-up/rear view camera i've installed, but think this will be a far better approach than the emergency brake switch.

If you'll share some info on your bypass device that might be helpful to others down the road.
FWIW the E-Series prior to 2005 were much more simple to do as you're doing, the CAN-bus network with its myriad "modules" weren't yet being added. When I wanted to disable the accessory turn-off function on my E-350 I physically re-wired the dome light and radio circuits to 2004 and earlier schematics. Had I known of FORScan I could have done this through the PCM----live and learn I say!
Good luck with your project---sounds like you're mostly there now!
