Oops.

It's the time of year when I tend to do the routine maintenance (oil change, grease the fittings, etc). I loosened the cap for the oil canister because I thought I might go ahead and change the oil. Instead, I abruptly decided to work on something else I've been wanting to do, which is install a pcv on the flathead. So that's what I did. Once I got in installed, I started it up, pulled out into the driveway and popped the hood with the intent of adjusting the carb. Imagine my surprise when I found oil pouring out the the top of the canister. In all, I think I lost about 2.5 quarts. I refilled it, Engine sounds fine, so hopefully no harm done.

Well, your driveway won't rust there for a few years. We've all done that - or something similar.
