I am wondering who sells a nice dash pad, not a cover. I am wanting a maroon one or one that I can dye. I know DC has a neutral color but has anyone purchased one and what do they fit like? Thanks
LMC, NPD, Dennis Carpenter to name a few. I've even seen them on eBay before. I'm pretty certain that there's only two places making a replacement dash pad for these trucks. TMI Products for the custom aftermarket style available in many colors, or the other one that everyone sells (dashes direct?) available in black or neutral.
TMI is the custom aftermarket style available from LMC truck, and a lot more colors are available to order off the manufacturer website. Looks cool, but not original if you care or maybe you prefer that. Everything I've read says that they fit good.
I'm pretty certain that all the others you find for sale are made by the same company. I think even the cheap ones on eBay are that company, but factory seconds that weren't finished. If you find it in color it's already painted or dyed because they only make the black and neutral. If using something like SEM I think you can do either color as it applies more like a paint over the vinyl, haven't used it but got a can here waiting to get some better arm rests. For an actual dye, you'd need white/neutral. I haven't heard anything about these fitting bad either, but don't know many people that have bought them due to price. Probably plenty sold and used, just don't get posted about much.
Just my 2 cent, take it for what it's worth to you. I'm interested in seeing others feedback as well, since mine is roached.
Awesome. Thanks josht for the prompt response. I checked out TMI and I think I will go with them. They have a ton of colors and I don’t want a black or one of the tan ones from LMC. I am going with a maroon, or variation, since it is the factory color for my truck. I am waiting for swatches from usa1 interior.

correction it is stock interiors not usa1. I read all there reviews and it doesn’t look good for usa1
TMI will send out color samples as well. Let me know what you end up getting please.
My truck has the maroon/dark red interior as well. The truck will need a lot of body work and paint in the future, but I haven't decided on an exterior color yet. If it stays current colors (Royal Maroon & Wimbledon White tu-tone) or goes back to the stock Rangoon Red, I'll probably stick with the Maroon/Dark Red interior color. I'm kind of drawn to that TMI dash as well and was planning to order color samples from them in the future to figure out what matches best.

I used Just Dashes for my 1970 with dark red/maroon interior and dash pad. They will color match and I had to send them a piece off of my old dash that was out of the sun for them to work with. They have some original Ford molds and the fit is spot-on. I'm very pleased with the result. http://www.justdashes.com/

Thanks GPatrick. They look like they have a nice process on fixing them and other hard to find pieces.
Are they expensive? How long has it been in your truck and does it still look good?
The only problem is I don’t have my dash pad still. I tossed it before I knew anything about these pieces and how hard it is to get one. Dummy and rookie move on my part but I thought they would be easily sourced because these trucks are so popular.
I got the reproduction pad. The black version (no paint) was about $299 at the time and for the color match it was $450 but that was a while back. Restoration is quite a bit more. A friend has a 67 Ranchero and his only option was to restore his old one that that quote was for $1000. So, you could buy a black on and dye it yourself. I don't know if they keep records but they might have some history on mine if we have the same color. If you are not a stickler for originality, find a red/maroon that you really like and have them make it to match. I liked working directly with the manufacturer rather than through a parts house for the dash. It has held up well. The only issue on mine was self induced when I was spraying inside the cowl. Right along the sides of the dash there is a seam and I managed to get a few spots on my pad where the pain blew through. No one would notice behind the windshield but I know its there. Fill out the request for quote on the site and they'll get back to you. I would request pricing for the basic black and then for potential stock colors and last for color match.
I think I am going to use TMI that josht post earlier on this thread. I looked at there website and they have a ton of colors. I will be pulling the trigger here in a couple of weeks probably.
Just to add my own personal experience...and your mileage may vary...
I ordered the TMI replacement dash. I realized it wasn't stock but with the stitching, it looked really nice. Once I got it and installed it, the fit wasn't that fantastic. The back edge butted upto the windshield gasket nicely, but the front rounded edge overhung the metal dash too much and because it's a thin shell, seemed flimsy even when bolted down. I ended up taking it off and sending it back and getting the OEM replacement which while it wasn't as interesting to the eye, it fit perfectly.

What company did you buy the oem replacement pad from?
