Hi all,
I am looking to add a bit more of an aggressive tone to the exhaust of my 01 v10. I have been searching around and found good reviews and sound clips for the AeroTurbine 3030xl as well as the JonesTurbine 3030XL (same muffler really). I was wondering if anyone had used a straight through Walker Heavy Duty muffler on a v10 before? One like this Walker Heavy-Duty Muffler 21468. I used one on my old 7.3 IDI and it worked great. Good flow, good tone and cheap. If I remember correctly the internal design is similar as well.
A regular at my shop has a beat up old 2001 F250 with a V10. Rusted out, wooden bed, 300k miles but he keeps going with it because it keeps going... It has a single chamber dual out muffler just stuck in place under the cab. Sounds wicked
3030XL or straight pipe it! My 3030XL broke the outlet nozzle off (poor install by a national chain.....) and I currently have it straight piped which isn't really much louder and still doesn't drone, even towing the big TT. The sound from the tailpipe gets loud under high load and throttle openings but it's pretty acceptable in the cabin. I'll get around to welding the nozzle back on the 3030XL this Spring and hang it back under the EX but until then it will be straight through.
