Hey all. I’m working on an 06 6.0L f250 and it’s really hard to start. Lots of white smoke when I’m turning the engine over. Also, CEL is on for glow plugs... P0670 and P0683.
I’m familiar with VW diesels, and the glow plugs won’t affect its starting unless it’s below freezing. However, it sounds like from some posts I’ve read on here, a bad GPCM can actually keep these diesel trucks from starting. Am I understanding this correctly? If so, I’ll start troubleshooting that module.
how's he FICM voltage , anything below 45 volts is bad, could take out some injectors , mine was a hard start cold and FICM was real sick , now its great no more hard cold starts,
also had 3 bad glow plugs , if your thinking of changing them get new harnesses and you can get to them thru the wheel well ,pull inner liner ,lots of room
