I like the looks and construction of the Magnum racks. I have no need for one currently but those ones are well made. If I were rough on headache racks, i’d get a back rack and replace as needed. The Magnum racks are about $1k, you can buy the back rack several times before you break even.
I had a magnum rack on my last truck and loved it. Having the extra break lights up high was very nice too. I got a lot of compliments. The Aluminum won't rust either. Being in Canada, it cost me a little over $1000 with currency conversion. I was able to have it shipped free to the boarder, an I picked it up. I didn't even get charged tax coming over the border with it. Looked at getting one for my f350, but with the boarders being closed, it would have been another $250 to have it shipped. Went with a back rack for my current rig. The Back Rack is very sturdy (and heavy).
Do these headache racks actually do anything other than looking tough and being a place to hang more lights? I mean if your load does come crashing forward, is this thing actually going to protect the occupants?
They’re not intended to stop an unsecured load from crashing through the back window. The times I’ve seen them useful was loading fire wood into the bed of a truck, a piece skips and hit the back rack rather than smashing the window. Some of the more stout ones will stop an ATV fbumper from crashing through the rear window if you get a little too frisky when loading. They have their uses.

Mine will. 1/4" thick steel tube, 1/8" expanded metal fully welded on perimeter with 3/4" support rods. 3/8" thick mounting plates with 3/16" gussets.
I wanted one for function over looks...I had to build one to get that. Not to mention, it only cost me <$100.
