Reading the description of the navigation option, it appears that it is somehow tied into Sirius. If I decide to order the truck I won't be subscribing to Sirius and am wondering what effect that would have on the navigation. Found out you can't get HD radio without buying navigation.
Well it only effects the live traffic updates. The HD radio and NAV are not exclusive so if you are looking at a XLT for instance you will get the NAV but no HD as the HD requires premium sound which is Lariat+. I have the satellite radio removed from Sync with a few simple forscan changes so it doesn't even show up.

Sync3 has Android Auto and Apple Car Play preloaded. If you plug your phone in to keep it charged, either of these two navigation systems are available and can auto launch. Andorid Auto is always live when I am on the road.
Included on 2019 XLT models and above per 2019 Super Duty Brochure: Voice-activated Navigation System2 with integrated SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link® with 5-year subscription.

You would be correct, I was thinking of the F150 for some reason which restricts the HD.
I actually didnt realize it was a nav only option, I didn't really want factory nav as I like android auto but find myself using it more than I though as its always up and running and doesnt need cell service. I am also happy to have hd radio...apparently you dont even get hd radio on a lariat unless you get nav, which was surprising to me when I saw some folks complain about it.
