I just picked up a 79 4x4. Emblems say 250. Has 8 lug wheels I think a D44 in front and D60 in rear. It has I think a 460 in it cause it has 7 bolts in valve covers. Also a 4spd stick with PTO plate on right side. Problem is best I can tell, the VIN is a 1/2 ton? It has 2 leafs on front springs. P/S, P/B Ac cab but compressor is gone but has pulleys for belt. Here is the Vin from the door jamb. Any ideas would be fine. I think I have a converted truck in some fashion. Thanks F15GPFE4094
Major difference in a 4wd F150 versus F250 is the F150 has 5 lugs, coil spring/radius arm front suspension and a 9" rear end. And the F250 "low boy" will have 2 leaf leaf springs up front and D44/D60 with 8 lugs. Could be a cab swap, could be a door swap, could be a metal wrannety plate swap on the door edge. X2 on locate the frame vin and see if it matches the paper title vin. You are looking in the red box area on a 4wd.
