The date of assembly is in the VIN #.
Do you not have the original rating plate off the door from the 79 ?
The chassis code is usually the one the inspectors go by because doors get replaced all the time after collisions.
If you have 2 VIN#'s to discuss chassis & rating plate ,it's tougher than having both spots matching.
