The instructions state the arrow points to the front so the slit would be to the rear.

.
No problem. I had to look it up about a month ago when I put the SPC bushings in my F250.

you installed them and away you went? Or did you still need an alignment machine?

Away I went. I added 2-1/2" Carli coils which reduces the caster by 1° or so. This brings it back to stock plus a bit. No real reason to check it unless you're wanting to know your specs. I checked the toe in with a couple of straight edges clamped to the rotors. Old school hack but it works.

That's also what my shop recommended first after I told them about the 2.3/2.6 bushings that I already installed. They didn't think my truck needs to go on the rack and just used some simple tools (not sure what they used) to correct my toes. I figured I was there and I wanted to know the numbers so I requested to put the truck on the alignment machine and get the readings.. so yeah, I think if the truck drives like stock and no pulls, only toe needs to be checked/adjusted to make sure the tires wear as they should.

Thanks for the info everyone. Also your not really adjusting toe. You can adjust total toe on these trucks but not really individual toe. They most likely just turned the drag link until the steering wheel was straight.

Even though the caster bushings don't change toe its not a bad idea to check toe anyway. Even with low miles who knows where it was when it left the factory. Its simple to check and adjust if needed as described by others. I like to have alignment checked on my vehicles anytime the suspension is altered and/or when new tires are put on.
