hood latch

2008 f-250 super duty, I have a stuck hood latch hood is closed

I have a 2008 Super Duty and I accidentally shut the hood with the cable disconnected. What I did was cut out the webbing on the sides of the grille to get to the bolts and removed grille. Then I was able to get some long tools to the latch. Good luck

Rudiak, Sounds like a real Oh Sh t problem if you had to that to get the hood open. Probably last time you make that mistake!

Yep I took it to the Ford House and they wanted no part of it. It worked out for me but I'm not sure why the OP,s latch is stuck.

I've had a similar problem with a mini. Spray it with WD40 or similar, then get someone to pop the hood while you're pushing down on it. If that works make sure you clean and grease before dropping it again

try pushing down on the hood while someone continually pulls the release, this has worked 90% of the time, bolts are either loose or the truck was hit and never perfectly aligned.
