Camper backfeed power

I have a slide in camper and while 7 way is hooked up and key on the power out of the truck is charging the battery in the camper which is great, so with that said once key is off will any damage happen with the camper battery power back feeding into the truck.

What I was thinking too. Once the relay goes off power coming back should not matter

Your camper should have an isolater that keeps the truck batteries disconnected when your key is off.

Maybe at one time it did but now it does not. As said though once key is off no power comes out of truck so I'm thinking there's no way of drawing off truck anyways. My biggest concern was the battery power back feeding into the truck with key off burning up something

Historically, ford disabled the power to the battery feed switch when the vehicle is off

this is to keep you from draining the starting battery if you use power for extended periods of time in the camper.

other manufacturers don’t do this and the truck battery and camper battery are always connected when the plug is connected.

Either way is fine and no harm done with either method.

unless you kill both batteries. Then you better have a “plan b”
